Just thought I’d update this with some fairly heavy dubstep and drum and bass tracks.

Borgore – Icecream

This is a pretty good track. Borgore is an Israeli dubstep producer who is being heard more and more in dubstep clubs. This song is a good example of his dirty basslines and mash ups of hip-hop and dubstep.

Datsik – Southpaw

This is from a relatively underground producer who does a mix of heavy dubstep and drum and bass. Just listen to the song and you will understand.

A really good youtube channel to view some good underground producers is InspectorDubplate.
He has a good mix of fairly unheard producers and I recommend you look through his posted videos.

Gorestep the new dubstep?

After talking with one of my big dubstep loving friends, we started to discuss a fairly new artist called Borgore. He’s not as easy to get into as other dub producers (such as Skream or Rusko), but through a decent sound system his tunes are filthy!

My friend was adamant that Borgore is going to change dubstep. His grimy basslines and fairly decent remixes of songs was his evidence. However I really couldn’t see it affecting the dubstep scene too much. Borgore’s music is just too heavy for “mainstream” dubstep. Artists such as Skream made themselves famous by appealing to a wider audience, whereas this self-entitled “gorestep” is aimed at a fairly niche market.

Firefox Video Lag? Problem Solved!

Well recently I’ve been suffering severe lag while watching videos from the web. Firefox has been using anywhere between 60 and 90% of the CPU, and the specs of my laptop are more than high enough to stream videos.

Anyways, through some googling I found the source of the problem. Flash!

With a lot of ad’s and video players flash or java based it starts to take a toll on your poor computer. So this app will help any of you with the same problem as me – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433

Basically the app is called “Flashblock” and closes all flash elements to a page. However if you wish to view a flash element then you just click a small play button. It also removes all flash ads from a page so it should also speed regular browsing!
